Several times a year, I make a point to catch a sunrise at the Ohio Turnpike Sunrise north of Peninsula in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. I safely stand on the other side of the guardrail on Riverview Road.
I can arrange to sell you a high quality version with much better resolution for printing. You can see some of my other photos at my website, Michael Murray Photography. Or, email me at [email protected] or call 800-490-3350.
I’d love to speak with you about the types of photos that interest you the most.
Concrete in nature? Some find it out of place. I absolutely love the Ohio Turnpike bridge near Peninsula because of how it looks in the morning almost any time of year.
Cuyahoga Valley National Park can be tranquil for the most part, but sometimes I can hear cars since the main roads like Riverview Road aren’t far away. That doesn’t mean beauty isn’t everywhere.
Ohio is home to the nation’s first turnpike, a roadway stretching 241 miles from Indiana to Pennsylvania. Along with this history-making roadway, Ohio also boasts the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, a 33,000-acre park full of trails and recreational activities. Let’s dive into some facts about these two popular places in the Buckeye State.
The speed limit varies with speeds up to 70 mph on some sections of the turnpike. There a dozen service plazas along the way where travelers can stop for food or fuel up their vehicles.
The Ohio Turnpike spans Cuyahoga Valley National Park, which was established in 1974 to protect the scenic beauty of its namesake river valley between Akron and Cleveland. It is located on 33,000 acres of land that includes forests, wetlands, fields, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, and more than 125 miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing and much more!
